"He says some outrageous things at times, but he's a sincere person at heart."

I should admit upfront that I don't keep fully up-to-date with all the event stories etc for this game because my sphere of focus is limited to these two characters...I don't mind spoilers, though; I've read all the events featuring the two of them as well as the main story, but I don't mind if you reference things from elsewhere in the canon.

One of my favourite interactions between them is in the card story where they drink together. They have the sort of dynamic that can seem tenuous even if it's all flowers and sunshine on the surface (no thanks to Figaro!), but I love reading happy endings that are surprising or "against the odds". My personal belief is that Rutile at least suspects Figaro's secrets and will be more accepting than Figaro expects. I do prefer them as a romantic ship, but I understand if you would rather write them with a platonic dynamic (if so, please don't write them in relationships with other people >.<).

Miscellaneous prompts:
- Themes of loneliness/companionship (Figaro says "I don't want to turn to stone alone" but Rutile says "There aren't this many people back in the South [...] so when you finally run into someone walking down a long road, it makes you happy." / Figaro says "I'd like to date somebody who tells me they love me even outside of a game" and Rutile says "Let's write I love you, Figaro-sensei! on these cookies / People say Figaro has a cold heart but Rutile says "he's sincere at heart" / Figaro is an old wizard fated to die soon after giving up countless relationships to preserve his own heart while Rutile gave up a long lifespan to save his brother! )
- Anything based on canon events (Indulging each other's ideas! Dancing together! Perhaps Figaro gets flustered when he sees Rutile's "I love you, Figaro-sensei" Valentine's Day cookies? Perhaps they go drinking together after work one day and Rutile presses Figaro to be more honest with him?)
- Modern AU (Professional car racing! Celebrities! Artists! Simple doctor/teacher in a non-magical world! Maybe they go to an amusement park and Rutile drags Figaro to all the roller coasters!)
- Magical realism (Maybe Figaro gets turned into a cat? Maybe Rutile's drawings come to life? Maybe one of Figaro's candies have an unexpected effect?)

He had to keep fighting because he understood Cale’s will better than anybody else.

This novel is such a treasure trove of characters with good hearts and the sweetest relationships; I will gladly take any mix-and-match of characters/relationship dynamics for these three nominated characters, romantic or not. I adore Cale and Alberu sniping at each other via excessive compliments and playing up their relationship for the crowds; I love how Cale has extreme faith in Choi Han whilst simultaneously being very intimidated by him; I love how Alberu and Choi Han are united in their (correct) opinion that Cale is a self-sacrificing hero who needs to be protected.

Honestly, I adore all the characters and relationships in TCF and I'd be more than happy for you to write anything your heart led you to write! I have no specific prompts but if Alberu and Cale can put on a Public Display of (sworn brotherly) Affection at some point in the story I will be forever in your debt.

Hades (Video Game 2018)

"Heeey, there, Zag, man, how's it going?"

The moment Dionysus appeared on-screen I was reduced to a humble grape on the vine - he's so free-spirited and fun, but he's still a god, so he retains the undercurrent of thoughtless cruelty that comes from not being mortal, I guess. Some of my favourite dialogues from him are when he gets mad over having his boons spurned! I would love to read more of his perspective on in-game events, but I'd also take a story where he comes and hangs out with other characters and just comments on their lives!

His codex entry is A+++ and I am always up for character exploration as well! I'm super into the contrast between how Dionysus loves mortals and is thus well-loved in return, yet cuts ties when they die. How does he feel, living that way, and what does he think when he comes across people who are more tenacious with their relationships, like Zagreus?

陈情令 | The Untamed (TV) RPF
Xiao Zhan, Wang Yi Bo

"Is it possible to say that I do have dating plans in front of the media? Asking this kind of question..."

"I want to take someone back to the Cloud Recesses. [...] Take him back... and hide him."

This is a canon I fell into quite recently, but there's so much room to work with; I assume if you've offered to write these two that you're okay with writing them romantically, but if not I'd be delighted with a platonic bonding fic too. Individually, I'm very taken with WYB's dry, contained humor and frank speech; I also like XZ's maturity, realism, and mischievous streak! In terms of their dynamic, I particularly love the banter and bickering, the compliment wars, and their competitiveness.

This is a pair that I think would work well in a "meet cute" type AU of any sort as well as with a plot that adheres to real-world events. I also have a huge thing for the extravagant conspiracy theories going around, so I'd enjoy reading "explanations" for what happened on set, the gifts they send each other, clothes-sharing, their small touches, the secret messages...and so on!

Bartimaeus - Jonathan Stroud
Bartimaeus, Ptolemy

"It's two thousand, one hundred and twenty-nine years since Ptolemy died," he said. "He was fourteen. Eight world empires have risen up and fallen away since that day, and I still carry his face. Who do you think's the lucky one?"

I've loved this series for a long time, and one thing I've always wanted is a happy ending for Bartimaeus and Ptolemy (I know, I know; that's not the point of the series!). I'd prefer a more definitely romantic relationship for them, but if that's not your cup of tea I'd be very happy with their canon dynamic, too. Maybe Bartimaeus manages to escape with Ptolemy somehow; maybe he takes Ptolemy with him back to the other place. Maybe Ptolemy still dies, but one day far in the future Bartimaeus encounters a shred of essence which seems achingly familiar. Maybe he waits millennia to be summoned back by an essence which has miraculously arranged itself into the exact same pattern as before. Maybe it's just a modern AU where nobody dies! I have a pretty wide range for what I'd consider a happy ending, so I'd be delighted to receive a fic where Bartimaeus is simply remembering Ptolemy, too.

In terms of their relationship, I love how deep yet (usually) understated Bartimaeus' affection for Ptolemy is; his devotion to detail where Ptolemy is concerned, the way he takes care to avoid situations similar to the one which lost him Ptolemy (eg the lion's mane). I'm also very weak for the moments where Bartimaeus admits to his own feelings (eg walking over hot coals). Of course, I'm a huge fan of the sharp, sarcastic tone of the original books, as well as the creative way they play with real-world historical events! If none of the above prompts stick, I'd definitely enjoy just reading something about their time together.

Yè Xiū, Huáng Shàotiān

"If you know that I’m going to run dungeons, why don’t you come on earlier?"

Blue Rain deserves a Championship, but if they can't have one, then Shaotian can at least have a ~~boy~~friend with a Championship (!?) Romantic or platonic, I don't really mind; I multi-ship a lot with this show and I enjoy the gen interactions too. I love how Shaotian and Ye Xiu can communicate on equal grounds as professionals (sort-of); while Ye Xiu can generally handle Shaotian, there are times when he's caught off-guard by Shaotian's energy and persistence, and their banter in the novel was really fun to read! With that said, the snippets of more serious commentary about Shaotian being an opportunist and Ye Xiu having to carry the burden of handling 9238234 things all at once were also wonderful, and I'd love to read a story where Shaotian helps lighten that burden.

風が強く吹いている | Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru | Run with the Wind (Anime)
Kiyose Haiji, Kurahara Kakeru

"If there were to be something in this world that embodied joy and beauty and goodness, for me, it would be this man."

This series came into my life and stole my heart away; it presented to me like a love story told to running and through running. I love how it explores the question of what running is, and how the anime took it a step further from the novel and tied it expressly to Kakeru, to Haiji, to their goals and relationships and experiences. One minor theme in relation to that which I love is the apparent futility of running ("Are only the chosen allowed to participate" / "Ride a bullet train. Ride a plane. They're faster." / "Even without running, there would still be joy. There would still be sorrow.") contrasted with each of the characters' individual motivations. I love the unpacking of what strength is, and all the imagery of stars and clouds and wind. A fic which touches on any of these points would be an utter delight to receive! Conversely, a fic which is full of light-hearted shenanigans would also be a wonderful Yuletide gift for me.

I've watched the anime and read most of the novel, though I don't know much about the manga adaption. KakeHai/HaiKake is my main ship, but I'll gladly read outside of that as well if you'd prefer to write something different! My other favourite characters are Yuki, Prince, and Shindo.

Tsumugi: Then let's start the leaders' meeting.
Sakuya: Yes! Let's have a good one!
Banri: Tonight we have the Director with us, too.
Izumi: Yeah, I actually have to talk to you all about something......Anyway, here.
Tenma: What's this paper bag? Inside is......an apron?
Banri: Yeah. Looks like a café apron.
Tsumugi: Is it a costume?
Izumi: Have any of you heard of 『Actor's Café』? It's a café where the shop attendants are all actors, and they serve customers with a different theme every day.
Banri: Oi, oi, hold up, Director. ......So then, this apron is...
Tenma: I've got a bad feeling about this......
Tsumugi: Erm, you couldn't mean......
Sakuya: Ahh, it sounds interesting!
Izumi: As expected of the leaders; you're quick on the uptake!
Tenma: No we're not! Why us!?
Izumi: Actually, the owner of that café is an aquaintance of mine, and it seems that they'll be understaffed for a couple of days due to various circumstances......I was asked if I could find some actors to work as temps. Please! I'll be there on the day to help out too!
Sakuya: I don't mind at all! I'll do my best!
Tenma: Geez......Why do I have to do that sort of......
Izumi: C'mon, you serve customers in a set role, so you could even say this is a form of practice.
Tsumugi: Haha, when you put it like that it might be true. Got it; I'll work hard too.
